H2-Filling Stations from Munich to Tokyo

Of the estimated 21 liquid hydrogen filling stations, 19 have been supplied by Linde.

One of the biggest milestones in the hydrogen story took place in May 1999, when the first hydrogen filling station (for both liquid and gaseous hydrogen) manufactured by Linde, BMW, Aral and other partners, was opened to the public at Munich Airport.

For the first time the LH2 road tank cars’ fueling is done by a tank-robot. Additionally, gaseous high pressure-hydrogen is provided for the shuttle buses.

Furthermore Linde takes part at a concept study lead-managed by Daimler Chrysler Aerospace where possibilities of hydrogen infrastructure at airports are researched.

May 30, 2003 proved to be another important milestone in Linde's commitment to the hydrogen economy. On that day, a hydrogen filling station opened for Showa Shell/ Iwatani in Tokyo. Again Linde delivered the core components for liquid and gaseous hydrogen.
