Metal fabrication involves many processes that rely on industrial gases.

Various cutting methods are used to separate metal - some of these consume gas. The welding or brazing techniques required to join materials also use gases. And thermal spraying relies on gases to produce almost any coated surface finish.

During production, cooling with gases is also an extremely effective way of controlling the process.
