Heat Exchanger Cleaning with CRYOCLEAN® |
| Dry ice blast cleaning of heat exchangers is becoming a more and more applied technology.
The advantages are:
- No cleaning agent residues, waste water or solvents
- Non-abrasive blasting material
- Reduced downtimes: no drying afterwards
- Efficient cleaning in undercuts and inside tubes or pipelines
In the picture at right you can see the cleaning of a heat exchanger with CRYOCLEAN®.
Pellets (-78 °C) hitting the deposits have mainly three effects:
- Local cooldown: difference in thermal expansion between deposits and tube material sheers off the deposits
- Due to high pressure at the impact the pellets are liquefied, seep through the deposits and evaporate almost explosively
- Kinetic energy of the pellets remove the deposits
Years of experience in many industrial applications have developed the CRYOCLEAN® systems.
For example sulfur condensors in Claus plants, refinery heat exchangers or reactors have successfully been cleaned.
